Betsy is President of Facilitated Learning, Inc., a SECA Associate.

Areas of expertise include:

  • Leadership and Executive Coaching
  • Assessing job suitability – helping leaders get the right people in the right jobs through the Harrison Assessment
  • Consulting to create coaching cultures in organizations
  • Designing and facilitating group interactions to reach goals

 

A Professional Coach, certified through the Coaches Training Institute and credentialed through the International Coach Federation, Betsy ignites the spark in people so that they can excel in life through authentic leadership of self and others. Most of her clients are self-employed or in middle to upper management positions. Her coaching assignments have been with organizations such as Turner Broadcasting, the US Department of Agriculture and CompuCredit – IT and Spa Sydell.

 

Prior to launching her own business, Ms. Pickren spent 13 years with Zenger-Miller, one of the nation's largest training and consulting firms where she helped create the Client Services Division. As Vice-president for Client Services, she managed a segment of the company responsible for serving the needs of more than 3,000 clients. Rounding out her background, Ms. Pickren has firsthand experience on the “client side” through in-house management positions in private industry and government.

 

Betsy earned a Masters Degree in Adult Education Program Management from Georgia State University . In addition, she has completed professional education seminars from some of the nation's leading experts in change management, team development, personal growth and organizational development. On the personal side, Betsy holds a Black Belt in Taekwondo.

 

Ms. Pickren has been active in a variety of professional, community and civic organizations. She is a member of VISTAGE (formerly known as TEC). Betsy is Past President of the Georgia Coach Association, co-chair of the 2006 Georgia PRISM award and Lead Judge for the 2007 Georgia PRISM awards, which recognizes excellence in coaching in organizations. In 2006, she received the Augusta Horsey Nash award for outstanding service to GCA and the coaching community. She has been a five-time mentor for PathBuilders (a mentoring program for women in business. She recently published a book about reenergizing political leaders to win without compromising self and values with seven other coaches from around the US and Canada.
